(More customer reviews)The knife itself arrived within 8 days or so, came well packed, completely un-sharpened, with a plastic insert over the tip. I wiped off the oil with ease and took a Quick Sharp to it along with a sander, and in an hour or so it had a good edge on it. The knife is MASSIVE, not very heavy though. I did not really expect it to be so big, even though it was described as such.
One thing I will make mention of, do not carry or transport it without first looking in to your local laws, here in the state I live I cannot carry it on my person and can transport by car only if it is in the trunk, packed well. It can be legally seen as a camping or yard work tool though, so it would make a nice hunting accessory.
The sheath is medium quality work, but not bad at all. The karda and chakmak (mini knives) fit into the sheath but having them in with the knife causes some space issues, leaving the knife poking out an inch or two, which is undesirable, and the knife IS loose in the sheath, to the point of falling out, but a cardboard insert near the top will help with that.
After all is said and done, I love this kukri, it's strong, beautiful, functional, and well-made. I highly recommend it.
