(More customer reviews)This set include most of what any every day cook needs. However, I'll note that three of five knives are serrated. Great for tomatoes, and such, but if you are looking for a boning knife, it's not included in this set. I chose Mundial because my mother has a beautiful set with the walnut handles, and they are a fantastic set (I think they are part of the Olivier (?) collection).

I like the weight of the knifes and they fit comfortably in my average-sized male hands. However, because the handles are smooth metal and one continuous piece with the blade, you need to be sure your hands are dry, as wet hands can make the knives dangerous to handle from slippage. I've had more than one unfortunate incident from this. I don't recommend letting your kids use these.

The knives hold their edge well, though I find myself sharpening the paring knife more often than the others. I use the bread knife for much more than bread, as it's serrated edge works great on hard-skinned squash and other larger items where the chef's knife can be more difficult to use.

The included kitchen shears are great. They separate into two pieces for easy and quick cleaning and drying.

The included block looks nice initially, but it's painted surface gets nicked after a while from the occasional miss when replacing a knife. It is also hard to keep clean, as there is a half inch groove that separates the block into two parts and collects dust. I've since replaced it with a solid block.

Overall, I'm please with the knives, but if I were to do it again, I would definitely opt for wood or composite handles that don't slip in wet hands.
