(More customer reviews)I bought this at Target in March, when I was on an extended business trip and didn't want to drag my good kitchen knife halfway across the country.
This cuts through mushrooms, zucchini, onions, and tomatoes just fine. But try chopping carrots or sweet potatoes--or worse yet, butternut squash--and things grind to a halt. Probably wouldn't be a problem for someone tall who can just throw the weight of her/his shoulders onto the blade, but I don't have that advantage.
I think for $20-25 I should at least be able to cut through carrots without winding up late for work. The only worse knife I've ever used was an $8 Walmart special when I had no other choice (on yet another business trip)--that one couldn't even manage onions without considerable effort on my part.
